A man of God with a teacher's heart, helping believers know the Word, pray with power and stand firm in Christ.
Meet Bernie
Born in Trinidad, Bernie Lutchman now calls Chatham, Illinois home, where he lives with his wife, Vicki. He describes himself first as a bondservant of the Lord Jesus Christ, and everything else grows from that.
He is a preacher, Bible teacher, author and pulpit supply minister. Since 2008 his Plumbline TV teaching has carried the Word to viewers in many countries.
As President of Business Men In Christ, he leads an all-volunteer ministry of outreach, service and discipleship for men across Central Illinois.

His calling
Pulpit supply minister
When a church needs the Word preached, Bernie steps into the pulpit. He brings Sunday messages and special services across Central Illinois with clarity, warmth and conviction.
Plumbline TV, since 2008
Plumbline is Bernie's Bible teaching program, built on Amos 7:7. It is now seen in many countries on the free Unshackled network for Roku, and 96 programs are on YouTube.
A life of prayer
Prayer runs through everything Bernie does, from Springfield's National Day of Prayer services to teaching series on the Lord's Prayer and Jesus' prayer in John 17.
President, Business Men In Christ
Business Men In Christ is an all-volunteer ministry of outreach, service and discipleship, founded in 2003 to reach churched and unchurched men in Central Illinois, with chapters in Springfield and Decatur.
The verse behind Plumbline
“Behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.”Amos 7:7
A plumb line never leans. Bernie holds every idea up to the Word of God and asks the same question: is it true?

Faith comes by hearing, so faith involves the mind. God says, “Come, let us reason together.”
The First Scientist of creation wired us with processes that are repeatable and clear.
