Meet Bernie
Bernie Lutchman, a disciple of Jesus Christ, husband, father and grandfather, is a decades-long resident of Chatham, in central Illinois.
He has been a men's ministry leader for over three decades, at both the local church and national conference levels. One of the co-founders of the Springfield, IL leg of the ongoing Iron Sharpens Iron Men's Conference, Bernie has led the Prayer Counseling initiative of this thriving annual men's meeting, which now operates under Tom Cheshire's Relevant Practical Ministry for Men.
In 2006, he was handed the leadership of the Illinois State Capitol National Day of Prayer annual event by Real Life Church Pastor Clint Cook. The event continues to this day, on the first Thursday of May at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.
Bernie is an experienced speaker and teacher at local men's conferences and Bible studies, and a pulpit supply minister across most evangelical denominations. His local public access TV show in Springfield began in 2008 and wrapped its local run in 2023. Much of the programming also aired on Christian Television Network's (CTN) Decatur, IL affiliate WLCF from 2012 to 2014, and worldwide on the Roku streaming network UNSHACKLED TV, out of Sullivan, IL, from 2014 to 2018.
Bernie is a long-time blogger and author. His newest book, THINK, is a deep dive into the mechanics of our brain wiring, the neuroscience our Heavenly Father built into us so that we can fulfill the calling of Romans 12:2 and be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Many of his future talks will explore this exciting and dynamic field, where science and Scripture grow us more into the likeness of Christ.
He is also blessed to play old-time gospel and worship music at times during pulpit supply services, with a few like-minded friends, at churches, senior homes and other family-friendly events. He is the current leader of Business Men In Christ in Springfield, IL, founded in 2003, and has written the RESONATE blog since 2007.

When a church needs the Word preached, Bernie steps into the pulpit. He serves as a pulpit supply minister across most evangelical denominations and speaks at men's conferences and Bible studies with clarity, warmth and conviction.
Plumbline TV, 2008–2023
Plumbline, Bernie's Bible teaching TV show built on Amos 7:7, ran 96 episodes on Springfield public access from 2008 to 2023. It also aired on CTN's Decatur affiliate WLCF from 2012 to 2014, and worldwide on the Roku network UNSHACKLED TV from 2014 to 2018.
